We were one of the first firms in the nation to realize the need for a computerized collection system that could handle high volume claims efficiently and cost effectively, and we developed a proprietary collection software in the 1980s. Today, we utilize the latest information technology to manage thousands of claims. In 2006, to support the growth of the collections and subrogation practice, a new entity was formed to provide pre-litigation collection and subrogation services, and to support the law practice in those areas.

Collection Services

M&P’s collection services offer a seamless progression from the initial demand letter and telephone contacts through post-judgment recoveries. Within guidelines established by each client, we establishment payment plans with debtors. We present claims in bankruptcies. We file lawsuits to collect unresolved debts. We enforce judgments by garnishments, attachments, replevins, writs of possession, and other court orders.

Subrogation Services

As part of M&P’s collection practice, our subrogation services for property and casualty insurance companies also realize the benefit of highly efficient information technology. In addition to “pre-legal” contacts and collection efforts, our subrogation services include representing insurers at claims mediations and in arbitration, pursuing claims through litigation, and defending claims raised against our client’s insured.
